I feel compelled to write a second post tonight.
In my opinion, Texas has produced the most gracious, elegant first Ladies of the United States. If you read about Lady Bird she was a spitfire, standing up and for the President in a time of war. Laura, beautiful Laura. Always handling the interview appropriately. Defending the office and the President during a time of war. Watching Larry King tonight,she is an obvious tough cookie. These women were and are women of strong character. Not just a wife of a President, strong willed, opinionated women. When you drive through Texas in a few months remember Lady Bird. When she flew into Austin in route to meet a friend she noticed the wildflowers,thus her platform and cause started before she was first Lady. She graduated high school at age 15. Marshall High School. Who knew what was ahead for her. Laura, she was born to be first Lady.
Once again, these women that prove a Texas woman is not a woman to underestimate.. Don't try to play games with the first Ladies that hail from Texas .The "Eyes of Texas" are upon you!

Instincts Won't Fail You
Learn:
During the Christmas holidays I received a call at work. My co-worker ask me to work for her,her exact words were, " if you could work for me tomorrow I will work for you any day,i mean any day." Sweet lady so I said yes,knowing it was a Friday and those are notoriously bad days in a family practice m.d. office. My instinct was to say no,but I didn't. I said yes. Today I called to ask if she could work for me tomorrow, I am fighting a headache and know I must be there on Thursday for class on the new system. My instincts were correct, exact words,"any day but tomorrow,I have to go to my....".Lesson, say no when your instincts or gut say no.
I don't want to give the wrong idea about this person, she is sweet and good "Bible Belt" church goer. She avoids conflict but on the other hand does not remember until she will need me to work for her when one of her great grandchildren or grandchildren arrive unexpectedly in town. I'll remember though. If you read this, you know I don't forget and the one thing I have on my side of the brain that works is a quick trigger when needed.
On shallow subjects. Dr. Phil is discussing gender identity. Now,what is that really ?Didn't Auntie Noxie and Aunt Vida get all of that straightened out for us? I am using their dictionary. Their "instincts" were spot on!
In and out of the fog of migraine meds I thought of the line in a song that always stops me in my tracks. Hank Williams wrote beautiful songs,but the line..."The silence of a falling star lights up a purple sky. And as I wonder where you are I am so lonesome I could cry". Tortured genius,yes..did you know that his wife Audrey booked the shows, played the shows, and paid the bills?She deserves credit too. Hank Jr. always gives her credit. Good boy, shout out to your mama.
Remember girls, always trust your instincts, if you have the gift of discernment it's an even stronger responsibility to yourself.
