Rebuilding Galveston

Hurricane Ike hit Galveston/Crystal Beach with full force. Seven months later you can't drive or walk in the area without hearing a nail gun or sight of a work truck. The residents are working to get Galveston back, better than ever.Seeing the water line on the buildings downtown with the name IKE scribbled above make what I consider downtown's latest "folk art". Beautiful old homes were still standing, not without blemish.Cruise ships coming into port.Great food on every corner with French/Spanish influence and the gift of fresh seafood at the doorstep of the chef.
Philanthropy is abound in Galveston. It was apparent. Reading short excerpts in magazines, names on libraries, streets, buildings, etc. I have some research to do. The Moody family, who were they? Who were the founding fathers of Galveston I need to know. Contributing to the Galveston economy is easy. Enjoy yourself.
"Gulf Breeze" is a reality. After the participants swam over a mile, biked over 56 miles, ran over 13 miles it was the macho men athletes that needed the IV fluids, not the 80-100lb women of strenth. We were there on a mission. Mission Accomplished!!

Time for your Easter bonnet, t
