Wonderful Mother's Day. Ali,Tamara, and Mark came in for the weekend. They gave me the best gift I could ask for....a Sonic gift card! Yes, it's all I wanted and all I need! I have told them repeatedly not to give me anything I would need to dust,clean,or I don't need. Chuck gave me the prettiest hummingbird feeder with pre-mixed nectar, again, a perfect gift. We really needed a new feeder for the hummingbirds. The last "pretty" one didn't last too long. Although I must add that I don't expect a gift from him for Mother's Day as I am not his mother.But it is a much needed addition for the few hummingbirds we have. We recently moved the bird bath where we could enjoy watching the birds and they certainly have fun in the water.
We are headed to Memphis for the big Elvis weekend in August. Glenda and I will be able to take part in the candlelight vigil at Graceland in memory of Elvis' passing on August 16,1977. The vigil will start at 6p.m. on Saturday,the 15th, and end when the last person has entered the gate carrying the vigil candle. We plan to get in on Memphis action on Beale Street(birth of the blues),Sun studio,and ALL Elvis memorabilia available! I am planning a purchase of new sunglasses, yes, Elvis sunglasses.We are staying at the famous historic Peabody hotel with the equally famous ducks and their duck march. I feel sure Chuck and Dave will enjoy the blues on Beale in addition to all the other music on Beale Street. I hope the Neely's restaurant is not to far away. I love watching them on the food channel and their family BBQ is considered the best. Memphis doesn't suffer from a shortage of great food and restaurants,so here we come!
The family has abundant action this month. Angie,Doug,and Maggie are bringing us a new nephew this week. Tamara and Mark are making the big move to home owners, and a beautiful home it is.Chuck gave them our 9 ft Christmas tree since we have 8 ft ceilings. We have birthdays today,tomorrow, and soon Edward Mason will have a May birthday.
