Congratulations to Ali! Two years of study,classes,and clinicals. The graduation ceremony was great. Good speakers, even the comedian gave great advice and insight into the future for these students. I know these past years have given her new friends and memories to cherish. It's always good to make and accept new friends into the circle of one's friendship. The hospital holds the memories of the last two years where they have all worked side by side. A hospital is really a small town and everybody knows everybody..in a small town:-)
It was graduation weekend in Baton Rouge. Hotels, restaurants, shopping malls were filled with the family, friends, and supporters of graduates. Ali's class president was in his 40's. He represented the best of a person's career choices.he works: he retires: then he goes after the job he always found interesting or as they say "is your passion".
Back to blog of graduation. Tamara and Mark, Robert and Kristen got to the graduation ceremony first and saved seats. Thank-you Tamara! Ali, Aunt Glenda, Uncle Dave, Chuck,and I arrived shortly after as did Jennifer, Seth, and Travis. We enjoyed the ceremony then went to eat at Copeland's Cheescake Bistro. Great food, great cheesecake and a wonderful place to enjoy our time together. We left there satisfied with leftovers in hand. We went back to Ali's apartment to enjoy the stories of the evening while wishing the next days graduates much success too.
I always think about the school teacher this time of the year. How fortunate students are to have men and women that are willing to teach. The impression a teacher gives will last a lifetime for many students. You have the gift to teach, as hard as it is, it's your gift and you change lives everyday. How many careers can boast that compliment? Not many.
